This Fajalauza glazed pottery comes from Grenada, Spain. This stoneware tradition dates back to the 16th century wits the potters collected clay from the Beiro River. They burned rosemary shrubs to make fuel to bake their ceramic pieces. They apply a tin based glaze after the first firing, and then paint it with oxide that react with the glaze during the second firing. This unique process creates the iconic vibrant blue green color.
